Directions from Inverness
travelling north by car up the A9
Follow the A9 north toward the
Kessock Bridge. At the Kessock bridge roundabout take the 1st
exit toward the city centre. follow the road past the Mercedes
Garage on your left and then B&Q on your right. At the next
roundabout follow the road straight ahead, this will be the 2nd
exit (you are ok to stay in right hand or centre lanes
approaching this roundabout). Follow the road past the BP
filling station on the left, past Kwik fit again on the left and
over the railway bridge. You are approaching another roundabout
- the Rose Street multi-storey car park will be on your left.
Take the second exit from this roundabout. Follow the short dual
carriageway (100 meters) to the next roundabout. Take the 2nd
exit, signposted Fort William on the A82. Stay in the left hand
lane across the bridge. Once over the bridge, at the next
roundabout, take the 2nd exit, again signposted Fort William on
the A82. You are now on Kenneth Street (recognised as a long
straight street with B&B's along both sides), continue to the
end of Kenneth Street. You will know you are there as there is a
cross-roads with traffic lights. As you approach this junction
stay in the right hand lane. Turn right - this again should be
signposted for Fort William. Continue straight ahead and you
will leave Inverness on the Loch Ness road after approx 2-3
miles.
Continue along the Loch Ness road -
A82 - toward Drumnadrochit (Fort William).
Drumnadrochit is approx 14 miles
from Inverness
As you near Drumnadrochit turn right
- signposted as 'Drumbuie'. Follow the twisting road right to
the top of the hill until you can go no further. You may think
you are lost but don't worry, keep going. At the top of the road
(detailed as Wester Achtuie on the map - see link below) there
is a type of junction. Turn left along the track. Within 30
meters you will come across a gate. Through the gate (please
close it behind you) and follow the track over the bridge across
the burn and along until you reach a 'Y' fork. Turn left,
through the next gate and the drive for Torran Lodge is on the
left.

Please note - the track from the
main road to Torran Lodge is a private road and is not surfaced
with tarmac. It is fine for most cars but would not be suitable
for vehicles that have lowered suspension or have very low front
spoilers. We would be grateful if you would ensure care is taken
whilst using the road as inappropriate speed will result in
damage to the surface of the road and possibly your vehicle.

Lodge on public transport please contact us and we will be happy to
send you any bus timetables you require.
